Requirements

We love all dogs here at Meadowsweet!

However some dogs are not comfortable in an open concept environment. Please read on to be sure we are the right fit for your dog.

Behavioral.

All Meadowsweet dogs must play well with others!

If your dog has a past history of aggression towards people and/or dogs then Meadowsweet will not be a good fit.

If you have a newly adopted dog and you’re unsure how they will do with other dogs please do not test the waters at Meadowsweet. Speak with a trainer!

Please complete the following checklist:

  • My dog enjoys the company of other dogs

  • My dog is friendly towards all dogs and all people (no exceptions). Dogs with high prey drives do not do well in this environment.

  • My dog is not an obsessive barker (no exceptions). We live in a quaint neighborhood with wonderful neighbors. Obsessive barking is not allowed out of respect for those surrounding us.

  • My dog does not have separation anxiety

A dog with separation anxiety will be happier in his or her own home. We know a few fantastic pet sitters and will be happy to give you their names.

  • Year round residents only, please. Guests must live locally, a minimum of 8 months out of the year.

  • My dog does not visit other daycare facilities. It is best to stick with just one daycare facility to limit the spread of transmittable diseases.

Puppies.

  • All male dogs over 10 months of age must be neutered.

  • All puppies must be fully housebroken

  • All puppies must be non-destructive

  • All puppies must be crate trained

Vaccinations.

  • My dog is on a seasonal flea & tick preventative. We do not recommend year round treatment.

  • My dog has a negative fecal report that was done within the last year

  • My dog is protected against Rabies, Bordetella, and DHPP - Distemper, Hepititis, Parvovirus & Parainfluenza (Positive serum antibody titers in lieu of documented vaccinations are acceptable and highly recommended) Please speak to your vet about this option!

Meet & Greet

We’d love to meet you and your dog!  Please contact us to schedule an all-day meet & greet visit.  A meet & greet gives your dog the opportunity to get to know us before his or her extended stay.  It gives all of us a chance to see if your dog is indeed comfortable in our setting!  This introductory meeting is mandatory for all new guests that want to use our overnight services.  For this reason, we are unable to accept dogs visiting the area from away. $35/dog
